She walked towards the thug while woging. We then heard screaming, but exactly why was left to the imagination. Did she kill him, did she beat the crap out of him, or did he just freak out and run away?
You use Wiki for your arguments. Right?
GrimmPower wrote: Again, we have no information about killing a thug. She tried to kill Marie but failed. She placed Hank in a coma to trade his life for the key.
And again, you use wiki for your arguments. Am I not allowed the same consideration?
GrimmPower wrote: I am considering them, and they all have elements of Adalind fearing Nick in them. I will get to them in a minute, bur first I want to take about Nick’s first encounter with Adalind. After she woged, she seemed nervous and later told Nick he had “scared the hell out of her”. When he questioned her in the next episode, she seemed extremely nervous, telling Nick: “If something happens to me, it won't just be a Grimm killing a Hexenbiest. It'll be a cop who's let an innocent woman die on his watch”.
You wrote that Adalind was frightened of Nick. Maybe you meant this differently, but I took it to mean that Adalind was consistently frightened of Nick since nothing else was mentioned. I was pointing out that there are examples where Adalind was not consistently frightened of Nick and in fact, went out of her way to show she wasn't frightened of him.
GrimmPower wrote: She did that to get to the key. Having dinner with Nick and company was safe, because Juliette and Hank did not know Juliette was a Hexenbiest and Nick could not kill her in front of them - or in public display.
Right. She went with Hank to get the key.......from NIck. What that shows is that she isn't afraid of Nick.
GrimmPower wrote: She did that to trade the key. She did not expect Nick to turn down the offer. When he pinned her to the ground, she gave a whimper in fear, and when he kissed her, she freaked out and bet his lip.
She went to the forest, alone, to confront Nick for the key. Again, I don't see how that translates into Adalind being consistently frightened of Nick. If she was all that frightened, she wouldn't have gone in the first place. Don't forget, at this point, Adalind was acting on her own.
GrimmPower wrote: Adalind threw herself on the first plane to Vienna… When Nick came looking, she was no wear to be found.
She came back, didn't she?
GrimmPower wrote: She was, as you said yourself, masquerading as Juliette. When Nick found out, she was gone. As before, she threw herself on the first plane to Vienna.
And again, she came back.
GrimmPower wrote: She did that because her fear of Juliette killing her was even bigger. She used the pregnancy and suppression potion to bargain with Nick for protection. When Adalind thought Juliette was human again, she was convinced Nick would kill her:
If she was convinced that Nick was always going to put her into some kind of fright mode, Adalind would have never come near the police station in the first place. Who bargains for a man to protect her if she's frightened of him? Adalind would never done such a thing if she knew Nick would kill her at the earliest opportunity.
GrimmPower wrote: That happened AFTER Nick had been helping her and she had given birth to his child. Everyting changed radically from the end of season 4. Adalind was, however, somewhat concerned about what Nick would do when her powers returned:
Adalind: I should've told you sooner.
Nick: Well, you're telling me now.
Adalind: I wanted to. I tried. I really did. I just got too scared.
Nick: I told you I would never hurt you.
Adalind: People change their mind, Nick.
Nick: I lost my mom when I was 12. And then I got her back, and... I lost her again. I would never do that to Kelly.
It was first after that conversation that Adalind trusted Nick unconditionally.
And what I am saying is if, Adalind was as frightened as implied, she would have showed it, not made some goofy and unvelievable remark while she's living with the guy.
Almost from day one, you've talked about how much Adalind loved Nick. You've argued that she was turning into this good person, and you've talked about how Nick treated in kind, and the trust that developed between them. How can that be if she's so frightened of Nick? We all know Adalind. She isn't going to trust someone she's frightened of.
GrimmPower wrote:
Well, you are mistaken.
Adalind to Nick: Hey, I'm sorry about your mom. I know how much that hurts. She died trying to save my daughter.
Adalind to Diana: I need you to get a message to Kelly's daddy, Nick. His mommy helped raise you when you were a little girl, remember? Well, he needs our help now.
Diana to Eve: Sometimes I miss my other mommy too. Her name is Kelly, just like my brother's.
Oh, well good, Thanks for pointing out that Diana did know her other mommy's name. Even so, I don't see where Adalind ever voiced any indication of honor or reverence for Kelly. The interesting thing about this is, even when she tells Nick she's naming the baby, Kelly, she doesn't utter one sentence to show her revence for mother Kelly. That would have been the perfect opportunity to gain an insight of what mother Kelly meant to her.
Nick himself doesn't even comment upon it. He just says, "okay".
And the truth of the matter, why would Adalind have any type of reverence or honor for Kelly? Kelly kidnapped her baby. Giving honor to that woman makes Adalind appear false and pretentious. That's why the producers (and wisely so) in my opinion, left it completely alone.
GrimmPower wrote: By the way, I’m not saying Adalind was constantly terrified of Nick. She was even teasing and flirting with him at one point (in the prison cell), but she had a lot of respect for the Grimm and was in no way fearless of him. That’s one of the reasons she came to Nick for protection as well- she considered Nick someone who could ACTALLY protect her.
I think you're saying that Adalind was consistently frightened of Nick. I just don't see it. I agree she says she's frightened. But, I also think she's not being truthful, either to Nick or to herself because her actions speak otherwise.
