It's interesting to consider that in the first couple seasons Renard spends a considerable amount of effort (and presumably money) to ensure that his new Grimm hates Hexenbiests.
After re-watching, I realized that EVERYTHING evil and bad from Adalind was driven by Renard. Adalind was just a random Hexenbiest lawyer. Renard was continually setting up situations which would ensure Nick maximally hated Hexenbiests....
For example - Renard has Adalind stab Nick with poison in the hospital - then soon after forces Nick to protect her from Mellifers while he forces her to continue openly manipulating him.... THEN Renard forces Adalind to have an affair with Hank to spell/kill him and go straight after Nick.... Renard hires Adalind to get Nick's key - then he steals it himself THEN he returns it to Nick with the fake altruistic guise of keeping it out of Adalind's hands... And so forth...
Why is this critical to Renard?
