  • MONROE GETS A CALL THAT WILL LEAD NICK TO AN INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY - JACQUELINE TOBONI AND DAMIEN PUCKLER GUEST STAR - Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) gets a call from a relative in Germany that will bring Nick (David Giuntoli) closer to his ancestors. Things get complicated when the nefarious group Black Claw is also after the same artifacts. Elsewhere, Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) helps a mayoral candidate get an edge on his opponent. Meanwhile, Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) confronts Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) about Nick and Adalind (Claire Coffee). Russell Hornsby, Reggie Lee and Bree Turner also star.

    • I don't know why they still haven't made Trubel OR Meisner series regulars yet. From what it seems, they both appear up to episode 10 and missed 1 episode.

        Loading editor
    • It's all because of NBC...

I feel like it should be up to the showrunners on promotions to regulars. They've stated multiple times in the case of Jacqueline Toboni that she'd be a regular if it was up to them.

    • NBC has control of the purse strings.
If someone is a guest star, they get paid a certain amount per show...not a salary like a regular.

But I want to see Trubel become a regular too!
      And Damien Puckler.

That's why I have been hoping that Meisner is a Grimm...it would be cool to have 3 Grimms on the show. :D

    • Wow I'm guessing we'll be seeing a ton of new, ancient and powerful wesens from thousands of years ago! Pretty exciting!

Near the end, it was not yet shown that Trubel's line is in the grimm book... I wonder if that's a hint of something... discovering Trubel's true family perhaps?

Will we ever get to see Adalind's first child in this season? The mighty powerful hexenbeist that's powerful already from young age, I wonder if she'll have a major role??

    • Awww Uncle Filex wanted $100k¬†:)

I was hoping there was a bit more action with Monroe.

Looks like Adalind is slowly being part of the "family" and getting accepted by everyone.

Hank seem to feel uncomfortable around Adalind, even when he took the wine bottle, didn't want to open/hold it.

I think they NEED to digitalized ALL those priceless books.  They also needto find a better place to store/hide the keys.

    • Oh wow....Nick & Co. have 5 Keys now!
I was not expecting that at all. Wow.

Renard doesn't even know that Nick got a second Key...and now Nick has Five.
They probably shouldn't tell Renard, about any of this.
The temptation might be too great.

This was such a GREAT EPISODE!
Every scene was fantastic...from the first minute.

I loved it that the whole Scooby Gang finally gets to see Fortress Nick.
The view from the roof was a great scene.
It was nice to see Nick & Monroe have a moment to 'catch up' on things in general that have been going on.

It was cool the way that the Scoobies are now working with HW...and HW is sharing information with them.
Trubel is such a secret agent now, and she seems to have fallen into the role of 'liaison' between Nick and HW.
I still want to know how she got so beat up, though...they need to let us know this. Details. I need details.

I loved the lines about how JuliEve should be feeling guilty about the things she's done...and how it's rather "convenient" that she has this new persona now, that she seems to think exempts her from any guilt.
I have been struggling with that.
So it was good to hear it acknowledged in the dialogue.

Loved the big trunk full of all sorts of Grimm Books, Weapons and...OMG! History of the Grimms!
      How cool is that!

Looks like we may finally get to know Trubel's history.
      That will be so great.

I've been loving the episodes this season...but this one was just firing on all cylinders and was totally amazing.

    • Hey everyone! Dang its been a long time, but i figured out that there were five new wesen shown in the books, an Indian elephant, a crab, a cheetah, a shark, and a¬†praying mantis. The shark's name is really hard to make out but still clear, the only part thats hard to read is the cursive that it¬†was written in. The mantis looks to be called a Saiteute or Sasieute or something and then the second part of it's name is Shi. It's very difficult to make out the first part of the name. The Indian elephant is called a Bhart Kadama, which in Hindi, means "India footstep." The crab wesen's page was all in greek, and i¬†only was able to make out the last part of it's name which was-nos. I can only assume that it was Karkinos or Carcinus from greek mythology which referred to¬†a giant crab. The cheetah pages were too hard to make out, and a name wasn't even shown for that matter. I don't know really anything about the names i assumed about, such as the mantis and crab, so further research is needed for that, but this is what i found.

      Is back.

To Germany we go! But yikes... those wesen didn't look too good. This means we'll encounter new ones, new books, new lands = new wesen. I think one of em was a Blutbad? Thank god they have Monroe with them xD he seems to be the only one, except possibly Renard (though he probably isn't going), that speaks German.

Also, remember the good old days when Nick was the one teaching Trubel and Juliette? Haha. Those days are over.

Probably my favorite episode by far, the one where they had the most success. 3 keys. One man had 3 keys. Wow.

It wasn't specifically season 4. There's been a slow drop since season 3, which happens to most shows that last this long.

        Loading editor
    • A 0.9 may be good enough to get a season 6, but it can't go much lower. Remember, one week isn't going to get a show renewed or cancelled. It's about the season average plus the averages of the other shows on NBC.

Here are all the demo changes between seasons:

Season 1 to season 2 was a gain of .11, Season 2 to season 3 was a drop of .22, Season 3 to season 4 was a drop of .25 in the demo. Season 4 to season 5 is a .24 drop so far. That may seem like a lot, but not when other shows like Once Upon a Time which started the same year as Grimm has dropped around 0.5-0.6 between seasons 3 times.

Grimm has been pretty consistent in the demo though this season.

        Loading editor
    • okay, sorry i not call you a liar¬†;P

        Loading editor
    • Ah so the Season 3 to 4 drop was the largest and 4 to 5 was the second largest. Grimm's done pretty well for itself considering it is aired at a time slot where not many people are watching.

      1. Are these 3 keys that Nick has now authentic keys or maybe counterfeits intended to lure Nick's keys out in the open?

      2. If authentic how did they leave the hands of the royal families? Are the royals trying to retrieve them?

      3. Will the  map that these keys make lead us to a treasure we really want to "find," "unleash", whatever? Is it a good "thing" we are looking for?

I'm thinking Renard was either misinformed since he was on the outs with the Royals, or he was lying to Nick since at the time their trust with each other wasn't all that great. Or Renard was correct, but at some point the Royals lost some or all of their keys somehow.

Reminiscing back to the second episode this season, remember how there was a picture of Renard on the computer of Paul Wemlingers before it was deleted. Yeah. That's the best way to give life to this boring Renard storyline and factor in Black Claw in a major way. I wouldn't be surprised if that lady Renard is mixed up with is a Musai or some other such Wesen we'll be introduced to.

        Loading editor
    • I definitely think that someone associated with Andrew Dixon is Black Claw - whether it's Dixon himself or Rachel Wood. But the whole thing smells of a trap to me. The other possibility is that one or both is working for Prince Viktor. The idea of Rachel being a Musai I like, though. As for the rest - the whole thing suggests to me the idea of doing a Senator Palpatine. Create a crisis that you then resolve and use the threat of chaos to assert control over the people. Hitler did the same.

        Loading editor
    • Something's definetly fishy about that campaign, but if it was about taking control of people, why think on such a small scale like 'only' Mayor? Why not going for Senator or even Govenor?

I think this Rachael woman is working for Black Claw and she's totally leading Renard on. I bet she knows exactly who he is and is involved with him for her own devices. She might be Wesen (maybe Musai?).

I would like a romance for Renard but on a show like Grimm, nothing ever stays happy for long.

        Loading editor
    • I think Rachel is Black Claw, either a Hexenbiest or a Musai.

        Loading editor
    • Why Musai? Renard doesn't seem to be a person with strong artistic backround. As far as we know Musai always go for creative men, not really for politicans. Besides, Renard doesn't seem to be fixated on her like Nick and the Luisant Pecheur were while under the influence of that venom. So... I think it's very unlikely she's a Musai.

Hexenbiest on the other Hand might be true, since those are keen on power and beauty.

        Loading editor
    • If Rachael is part of Black Claw and is a Musai, I seriously doubt she is going to go after only artistic people who resist them. It may be possible that she's a Hexenbiest, who knows? We'll just have to wait and see.

        Loading editor
    • Everyone's thinking Rachael's Black Claw - isn't it possible that the whole set-up is by the Royals? Don't forget that Viktor's still out there, and he and Sean are not exactly best mates... And having a puppet mayor in Portland, where Nick is would definitely benefit them as well.

        Loading editor
    • That's also a possiblity. I think with this season where very little of the Royals have so far been seen, people associate anything malicious with Black Claw rather than the Royals. In another thread, I was reminded that Trubel has been working with other Grimms around the world. I wonder why Nick is the one everyone is after (besides him being the main character of the show) and attention isn't focused yet on these other Grimms.
