Nick: Looks pretty beat up.
Sheriff: Probably from river debris.
Nick: I don't know about these marks on his ankles.
Hank: Yeah, same here, too. Like scratches.

Nick: I'm Detective Burkhardt, this is Detective Griffin. You filed a missing persons report for Daniel Hopkins.

Hank: Afraid not. They discovered Dan's body this morning.

Hank: All right, we're gonna need you to go over everything that happened yesterday. Where you were, who was there, anything you can remember.

Nick: Alright, was anyone else there with you?
Jake: No, not at first. Um... We were fishing up near Steelhead, and, um, then these two girls showed up.
Nick: You get their names?

Jake: I never had a chance. I mean, one thing led to another.

Jake: Of course, but... I mean, and the something pulled me under too. And then that's the last thing I remember. Look, I told all this to the police last night. I don't think they believed me.
Hank: How'd you manage to get out?
Jake: I'm not sure. I mean, all I know is there was this...

Jake: Girl, I think. But you know, I mean, I'm not even sure she was real, man. I mean, I was still just trying to breathe.
Hank: It wasn't Sarah or Anna?

Jake: My car was parked behind these trees. We came down here and made a campfire. My clothes were right here, Dan's too. I mean, I looked all up and down the river for him. I should have gone in after him, but after what happened...
Nick: Is this were you went into the river?

Hank: And where'd you get pullet out?
Jake: Uh, down there, I guess.
Hank: What happened to the girls you were with?
Jake: I don't know, I... I mean, I thought maybe they got grabbed too, but then their clothes were gone when I came to.
Nick: You said there was another girl that pulled you out. What happened to her?
Jake: Uh... I think she ran off as soon as I was out of the river.
Hank: Now, when did you call 911?
Jake: Soon as I got back up here. I couldn't find my phone, so I used Dan's. [Nick hears someone in the bushes].
Hank: How did the girls get here?
Jake: Just came back from there.
Hank: You didn't see a car?
Jake: No. [Elly sees Nick and runs away].
Nick: Hank! Police! Stop! I'm not gonna hurt you! [Elly dives into the water and woges].
Hank: What happened?
Nick: She dove in.
Hank: You see her come up?
Nick: Yeah, about 50 yards out.
Hank: She swam all that way underwater? What are we dealing with?
Jake: Hey, hey, I think that's the girl I saw when I came up. Where'd she go?
Nick: I'm not sure.
Hank: River patrol didn't find any bodies matching Jake's description of Sarah, Anna, or the girl Nick saw jump into the river.
Renard: They're probably still alive. Somebody went back to the campsite and took the sisters' clothes.
Hank: Jake said they were scared. They probably got out of the river, grabbed their stuff and ran.
Nick: The girl I saw go into the river was a lot more than a girl when she got under the water.
Renard: You know what she was?
Nick: Not yet.
Renard: Let's round up the unusual suspects. [Renard gets a message from Sebastien, with the image of Adalind being in room 215. Renard calls him].
Sebastien: Oui?
Renard: Are you alone?
Sebastien: I can talk. You received the photo?
Renard: Adalind.
Sebastien: The Sacher Hotel room number I found at Frau Pech's, it's Adalind's room.
Renard: She was doing business with Frau Pech?
Sebastien: Apparently. Frau Pech might have approached her knowing she was a lawyer for the family. In order to get around me and make a deal for the child.
Renard: Did my brother know about this?
Sebastien: I never had a chance to tell him.
Renard: We still don't know who's selling the baby.

Nick: That's probably why Jake can't describe who saved him.

Hank: Well, at least we have an idea of what we're dealing with now.

Monroe: Oh, listen to this. It's dated 1755. Looks like a Grimm working for the East India Company. "A strange event aboard the merchant vessel Doddington. Jory, our third mate, disappeared overnight. The rest of the crew grows superstitious. Recently, Jory, had taken to raving about a beautiful woman swimming alongside our ship, like a fish. I have decided to stand the man's watch as we round the Cape to see if there is any truth to these rumors. It turns out Jory was no lunatic. I saw the creature known to my kin as the Naiad. After capturing it in a net, I was able to haul the creature aboard, where she donned her human shape. I find her mesmerizing and have kept her hidden from the captain and crew. After some hours on board, the woman's skin began to dry and peel. She begs me to return her to the sea, but I am determined to prove Jory true. I have questioned her, regarding his disappearance, but she refuses to betray any secrets of her kind and only pleads to be let back into the water." Oh, wow. Hank: It's Wu. Got something for us?
Wu: We ran the number from Jake Barnes's missing cell phone, GPS puts it at the Andersen Marina.
Nick: That's not far up the river from where they went swimming.
Wu: How you want to handle this?
Hank: Meet us at the marina.
Nick: We should bring Jake along in case he can ID whoever took the phone.
Nick: You ever been here?
Jake: No.
Hank: You know anybody who lives here?
Jake: Uh, not that I know of.
Nick: Stay in the car.
Hank: See if you recognize anybody.
Wu: The phone's still on. In one of these houseboats. [Elly sees them approaching and hides]. Looks like this one here.
Nick: Sir, I'm Detective Burkhardt, this is Detective Griffin. We're following up an investigation about a drowning. Need to ask you a few questions.
Abel: Who drowned?
Nick: Can I have your name, sir?
Abel: Abel Mahario. Uh, I don't know anybody who drowned.
Hank: We're tracking a stolen cell phone. It was taken from where the victim went into the river. The signal led us here.
Nick: Mind if we take a look inside?
Abel: I haven't done anything wrong, and I told you, I don't know anybody who drowned, so this must be a mistake.
Wu: Should be easy enough to find out. Calling the stolen cell phone now. [They hear ringing].
Hank: That sounds like probable cause to me.
Nick: We're going inside, sir.
Wu: Sir, will you stay right here? [Hank finds the cell phone under the couch].
Hank: So, how'd Jake's phone get in here? [Nick sees a photo].
Nick: Girl on the left looks like the one I chased into the river.
Hank: The Naiad?
Nick: Let's find out. [They head outside].
Hank: Sir, do you want to take a crack at how this cell phone got in your house?
Abel: I have no idea how it got there.
Nick: This girl, is she your daughter?
Abel: Why? Elly didn't do anything.
Nick: She may have been in the area at the time of the drowning. We need to talk to her, see if she saw anything.
Abel: Well, you can't talk to her.
Hank: Sir, this is a police investigation.
Abel: She's deaf, so unless one of you can sign... [Sarah and Anna approach the marina, and Jake follows them].

Sarah: I don't know what you're talking about.
Jake: Dan, he drowned. The police are here.

Nick: You recognize this girl? [Nick shows Jake the photo].

Nick: Sir, we can make the same arrangements for you, unless you want to clear this up right now.

Nick: Well, I guess we have more to talk about than I thought. But I'm going to talk to your daughters first, give you some time to think about it. [Nick walks away].

Abel: I haven't forgotten anything. I know what it takes for us to survive. Your world died 200 years ago, and now you've jeopardized all of us with this fundamental crap!

Hank: Jake is only alive because Elly saved him. That means you either saw what happened or were involved with what happened.
Nick: You need to tell us, Anna. Because I know Naiads can only be out of the water for so long. And you will die in here if you don't start talking.
Hank: Who pulled Jake under the water? Who killed Dan?
Nick: Knowing what they are and what will happen to them, we don't want to keep them locked up.
Hank: But they're not giving us much choice. At the very least, they know what happened and didn't report it.
Renard: So they might know who did it.
Nick: Well, that's the problem. We think they're protecting somebody.
Renard: How much time do you think they'll have?
Nick: I doubt they'll survive the night.
Renard: And what about the girl who saved your victim from the river?
Hank: Can't find her.
Renard: So how do we explain two dead women in our holding cells? We can't very well say they're Naiads.
Nick: We'll get blamed for something we had no control over.
Hank: And they're playing a very serious game.
Nick: If they're involved, what do we do, just let them go?
Renard: No. This is their problem, not ours. If they choose to die, we let the ME explain it. Just cause they're Wesen, it doesn't entitle them to special treatment. [Wu knocks on the door]. Yeah?
Wu: Girls' father, Abel Mahario, is here. Apparently, he wants to talk.
Abel: I killed that boy. I did it. You need to arrest me and let my daughters go.
Hank: How'd you kill him?
Abel: I drowned him.
Nick: Why?

Sarah: That wasn't supposed to happen. In the old days, maybe, but we don't do that anymore. At least we didn't, till Dominic and Jesse showed up about six months ago.

Hank: Did you know them prior to that?
Sarah: No. Our relationships are arranged. Dominic and Jesse come from a family that believe in all of these old traditions. We didn't think that they would actually do anything. We just... We just thought they were talking.
Hank: This is some kind of ritual?
Sarah: I think that's what they want us to think, but it's more about revenge. We can only conceive and give birth in the water. Naiad men are born sterile. They know we have to mate with other men. Otherwise, we'll die out. I mean, they're not very happy about it, but neither are we.
Nick: Well, I can see where that may cause a little bit of tension.
Sarah: Our men have to raise the children of other men. I mean, some of them are okay with it, but... others aren't so accepting. [Nick gets a phone call].
Nick: It's Jake. Hello?
Jake: Detective Burkhardt? It's Jake. She was just here, the girl who saved me.
Nick: Where are you?
Jake: At my apartment. She was in the pool. Those two guys from the marina, they jumped me and took her.
Nick: Stay where you are. We're gonna send some uniforms your way. [He hangs up]. Jesse and Dominic beat up Jake. Elly was there, and they took her.

Sarah: They'll cut the telae between her fingers and toes. It's how they used to banish those that broke our laws.
Nick: Where would they take her?
