In the second episode Eddie again assists Nick by guarding Aunt marie when her police protection is cancelled and she is left helpless. Eddie and marie have a terse conversation, but it is interrupted by Eddie noticing men that are stalking Marie's hospital room. He follows them down into the hospital basement, and a fight ensues, where Eddie, assumes his blutbaden form and severely beats the two would be assassins, tearing off a gun arm. he then runs away so that he isn't at the sene. He phones Nick to tell him that he has to abort protection detail. As Eddie flees, a man dressed as a priest attacks marie, but she fights back.

Monroe is a Wieder Blutbad (reformed "big bad wolf") who now lives a solitaire, reformed life among humans; he explains to the main character (Detective Nick Burkhardt) that he is a "vegan." Monroe helps Nick Burkhardt by searching for another blutbad.

In the first episode Monroe meets Detective Burkhardt, during an investigation into a series of related crimes as suspicions are directed at Monroe by Burkhardt.
