  • Hi Michael.  Recently, you were issued a ban of 2 days because you were repeatedly adding categories to pages where it was not necessary.  I don't know if you knew about the Recent Wiki Activity page, but to view that, the link is here: http://grimm.wikia.com/wiki/Special:WikiActivity

A link to this page is also located at the top of the page right next to the GrimmWiki logo -- the text "Wiki Activity" directs to that page when clicked on.  I bring this up because you can view edits there, as well as comments that accompany those edits.  If you did not realize this before, WesenZoo and I made some comments when undoing some of your edits to let you know that adding the categories you were adding and moving the "DefaultSort" on various pages was not necessary, among some other edits (such as adding a forward slash to line breaks).

However, WesenZoo informed you as to why you had been banned, and we were disappointed to see you making the same types of edits.  The comments you have left on pages are absolutely fine, so there's no problem there, but making unnecessary edits like adding categories where they are not needed and inserting unnecessary line breaks only causes extra work for admins to undo.  When this is repeated, it results in a ban.  Please do not keep repeating your recent edits.

    Thanks,

    Grimmaniac

    • Michael,

While it's something I prefer not to do, I previously addressed some of your edits on the wiki, and unfortunately, it's clear to me I need to do so again.  After some considerable thought, I've decided to not issue a ban, but this is the last time you are going to be given a warning about this.  Please stop making unnecessary edits, which include moving the "Defaultsort" tag, adding unnecessary categories that clearly do not belong on pages, and adding unnecessary line breaks.  These edits are textbook examples of how Wikipedia defines Disruptive Editing; additionally, there are several consecutive edits you tend to make on pages that can be simply done in one edit (for instance, the 30+ consecutive edits made on Monroe's page today), which makes going through the edit history of an article much more tedious and cumbersome.

I recommend that you review the linked page above. If you are unsure about an edit to make, please feel free to ask me or another admin about it--that's what we're here for. Generally, if you have to ask if an edit is okay to publish, it's better to ask one of us rather than to just publish it.

      Thanks,
      Grimmaniac

I'm sorry! I swear I'll leave the "Defaultsort" tag alone. I'll ask you if an edit is okay to punish. I swear, I mean it!

  • You need to read the image policy before uploading anymore images. Also don't take images from screencapped.net. The colors are off.
