A Geier (GY-ər; Ger. "vulture") is a vulture-like Wesen that first appeared in "Organ Grinder".

Characteristics[]

When Geiers woge, the creatures' hands elongate and grow sharp talons, which they use for defense or attack. Their feet grow an additional talon on their heel, making attacks from the air more effective. They also develop a hook-like nose, resembling a vulture's beak, and gain dark black eyes. Like a few Wesen, they can localize their woge to their eyes. They have an innate ability to move through trees and are very adept at ambushing their prey in forest terrain. They attack from above, patiently awaiting their opportunity. They appear to be no stronger than ordinary humans but are certainly much more agile and far faster.

Behavior[]

Geiers are a communal race, living and working with groups of their own kind. These creatures are harvesters who take pleasure in the pain of others. Geiers gut humans for their organs and blood to use as homeopathic medicines and aphrodisiacs within the Wesen creature community, and they are responsible for procuring such agents for the benefit of Wesen kind. This gruesome practice may be referenced to an actual vulture's role as a scavenger, feeding on the carcasses of people and animals who died in desert areas.

Like many Wesen, Geiers are terrified of Grimms.

April 5, 1918

When I arrived in France, the German spring offensive had just claimed the lives of 20,000 British soldiers on the first day of battle. I tracked a clan of Geiers to the battlefields a few days later. I observed that they held no allegiance to either side, harvesting the organs of British and German soldiers alike.

The Geier hands elongate and grow sharp talons. Geier feet grow an additional talon on the heel, making attacks from the air more effective.

The creatures attack from above, awaiting their opportunity.

Geiers have an innate ability to move through trees, staying above their victims who walk beneath them, unaware...

They attack from above...

Geiers are the vilest of all -- they harvest human organs while the victims are still alive, seeming to take pleasure in the savage pain they cause.
Carnage on the front lines has provided them with a seemingly endless supply of viscera for their terrible trade.

Trivia[]

  • A few Geiers worked at the Folter Clinic, where homeless children are medically treated. "Folter" is the German word for "torture," referring to the Geiers' sadistic nature of torturing their victims by harvesting their organs with full awareness.
