A Fuchsbau (FOOKS-bow; Ger. "fox hole" or "burrow") is a fox-like Wesen that first appeared in "Organ Grinder".
Characteristics[]
Compared to many canid Wesen, Fuchsbaus have a mild woge. They grow long, orange fur, as well as either white or black patches all over their bodies. Their facial features remain relatively the same, save for becoming slightly more pointed. They also gain sharp canine teeth, fox-like ears, fox-like eyes, and a black, fox-like nose. Their hair stays roughly the same.
They do not have any considerable strength enhancement or superiority over humans that other canine Wesen like Schakals and Blutbaden obviously have. However, their jaw muscles are powerful enough to at least tear off a chunk from their victims, and their teeth are sharp enough to chew through rope. They are known to have an excellent sense of smell that is on par with a Blutbad's, as seen when Monroe and Rosalee smelled Nick's mother in his house, but Rosalee was able to specifically tell that it was a female's scent. ("Bad Teeth") Their sense of smell becomes stronger when they woge. Like several Wesen, they are able to focus their woge to just their eyes.
Behavior[]
Generally deemed as "liars" by the Wesen community, ("Cat and Mouse") Fuchsbaus may deal with shady transactions, including the buying and selling of human organs. Despite this, Fuchsbaus are loyal and friendly to those whom they consider friends.
They generally prefer to avoid confrontation; however, they will fight when forced to do so and will not go down until they at least succeed at biting off something from their adversaries. Monroe lent some credibility to this aspect of a Fuchsbau's reputation when he warned Nick that Freddy Calvert was a Fuchsbau and told him to count fingers after they shake hands. ("Organ Grinder") They prefer to ambush and surprise those who come after them.
They will fight for causes they believe in, as shown by the number of them in the Resistance (against the Verrat), namely Ian Harmon and Rosalee's parents and grandparents.
Male Fuchsbaus can have a bit of a propensity to philander, as was the case with Ryan Showalter.
Like many Wesen, Fuchsbaus fear Grimms. Their first response to meeting one is usually to try to run away, but they are willing to at least work with them after being assured the Grimm means them no harm.
