I can't really tell which love is the true one. Is it:
1.) Nick's love for Adalind and their baby son?
2.) Nick's love for Juliette?

My thoughts are that at the very end when Diana said mom and dad will be there too tells you everything. She wouldn't say dad if she meant Renard to Kelly, but she didn't say Nick or your dad. To me that means Nick has become something of a dad to her whether Renard is still around or not. That wouldn't of happened if Nick and Adalind hadn't of stayed together.
It's very possible that Renard married. After all, the viewers are supposed to believe these people have changed. Diana could have been talking about Renard (dad) his wife (mom). If Diana has come to terms to see Nick as "Dad", then she would have come to terms to see Renard's wife as "Mom".
The point is Kelly wouldn't. Nick would be Dad, Renard would be Renard and what the **** would Renard be doing hunting Wessen? Just doesn't fit with the triplets being there too. Might not hate Renard but Monroe and Rosalees kids hunting with him and his new wife? Really don't think the writers would intend for the ending to mean that bat****.
It's just as plausible as Diana calling Nick, "Dad", that's all I'm saying.
Diana never said the people coming with them were hunting wesen. All she said to Kelly is, "We've got wesen to kill".
Yeah, possible. It's fiction though, written by people, and I'm discussing what the writers meant by the ending. Not just stuff that could have possibly happened in a fictional universe. Do you get my point? Look at right before the 20 year time jump, Nick goes to Adalind then Diana then Kelly. You need to take things into context.
But here's the thing. If you have to 'guess' that "Mom and Dad" means Adalind and Nick, doesn't that tell you something? In other words, you don't know what the writers meant because they never stated either way. You're also assuming stuff in a fictional universe. The thing is, Diana never called Nick, "Dad". Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Reread my first comment. Never said I guessed. I said my thoughts and those are based on logic. I usually don't guess. I will however guess right now that you hate Adilind.

I'm not rereading your comments. That's a waste of my time. You think that because you see Nick going to Adalind and then to Diana and then to Kelly that means it all turns out the way you want? Well you would be right, but only as far as you're concerned.
When David Giuntoli was asked what the ending meant, he said "it means whatever you want it to mean".
I don't see 'Mom and Dad' meaning Adalind and Nick because Diana never once referred to Nick as 'Dad'. She always called him 'Nick'. In order for him to become 'Dad' to Diana, a lot of things have to happen first. Diana was betrayed by Nick, and Adalind was betrayed by Nick. Can Diana forgive Nick for that and for disrupting her young life? She brought Nick back for Adalind, but I see that as a gesture of love for her mother that had nothing to do with Nick. If Adalind had told her to leave him there, she would have.
You ask what would Renard be doing hunting. Why not instead flip back to the early years of Grimm when Renard talked about outside interference with 'his' Grimm? Go forward a bit where Renard talks about most crimes in Portland being committed by wesen. Renard is the reason Nick got to hunt Grimm in the first place. So, please don't tell me that Renard doesn't know about hunting wesen. He knows all about hunting wesen. He saw Nick the Grimm and put him right where he belonged.
For all of your love and adoration of Nick and Adalind, I have never seen anyone (including you) explain why Adalind would be there, some 20 years later, with Monroe's kids, to "kill wesen". You all question Renard being there, but no one has even mentioned why Adalind would be there. No one has explained why Monroe's kids would be there, much less Nick himself.
You talk about the writers' logic, yet you can't explain it either. Go with what works for you and leave it at that. The only possible course on this one is to agree to disagree and go with what David said....."it's whatever you want it to be".
It's probably best this thread be closed at this point since this has gotten off topic, but on the topic of the 20 year epilogue -- the producers & writers of the show gave enough information to indicate that Nick & Adalind got married at some point (this would not be on the respective character pages without such confirmation) during that time. That makes Nick Diana's step-dad in the 20-year epilogue. Where the producers/writers leave things much more open-ended to the viewers' imaginations is what Trubel, Renard, and Eve are doing 20 years later (from David Greenwalt: "They’re still out there, doing their thing. But we wanted to leave it open for the fans to imagine their own story." From another interview on Renard/Eve/Trubel and what happened to them, Greenwalt said, "Whatever you think happened to them... It's supposed to live on in your mind! You the viewer. But it's quite probably true that they are all out there, fighting the good fight.") This should help clear things up. I recommend creating a different thread topic to discuss any theories on those characters and their potential activities. Still some great material out there for a spin-off!
