A Bastet (BAHS-t; L.Egypt. bastt, from Arc.Egypt. bast "she of the ointment jar") is Wesen first mentioned in "Once We Were Gods". It has not been revealed whether the Wesen is cat-like or lion-like. During the Ancient Egyptian Empire, Bastet were worshiped as the goddess of cats, the home, fire, joy, dance, music, and love.

- Note on pronunciation: The et at the end is actually not pronounced; it was added during the New Kingdom to emphasize that the t was actually a second syllable.
